Get Travel Ready at The Lash Lounge in Memorial Green

I’ve stocked my summer months with TONS of fun: Weekend getaways, outdoor adventures and even a 10-day trip to Germany. I’m overwhelmed and excited and can’t wait for all the photos I’m gonna take on all these trips. And I know just the way to get summer trip ready: Eyelash extensions and brow care.

There’s no other sure-fire way to look put together and pretty on your 5 am flight or after hours in the sun on a boat — learned this on The Yacht Week last year when I got lash extensions for the first time.

If you’re going on a buncha trips and wanna invest in a low-maintenance way to be photo ready 24/7, then you’re gonna need to book an appointment with The Lash Lounge in Memorial Green.

Read about my experience at the darling studio below! It’s Not Hou readers will get half off their first visit. The first 50 to call and set up their service will get the deal!

The lashes

A quick lesson for those who have no clue what I’m talking about… what tf are eyelash extensions? No, they are not glue-on fake eyelashes. They are individual lashes permanently glued onto your natural lashes to thicken and lengthen your lashes. It’s pretty incredible that this is even possible — lashes are so tiny, right??? The process is about 2 hours (45 min to an hour for refills). A full set starts at $200, but it’s $99 a month to be a member, which includes two monthly refills.

When getting the extensions in, it’s not, well, super comfortable. My eyes always water, which is not great for the gluing process. I had to hold a fan most of the time, haha. However, I know a lot of people who have no problems and take a nap during the process. Everyone’s eyeballs are different.

A week of the lashes, I am so impressed with how well the lashes are staying on (I think I’ve only lost like 3, wait 4, lost one while writing this lol). And they look so good! My lash technician explained to me that she gave me the longest lashes they allow — she measured my lashes and told me they have rules on how long they are allowed to go, which sounded like good quality assurance. They don’t want to give you hella long lashes that fall off!

The brows

TLL’s brow services includes threading, extensions and tinting/perming. Not knowing ANYTHING about brows, I opted for the tinting. I know how “in” dark brows are, and while I think my brows are pretty dark for my fake blonde hair, I went for it. Yolo. My technician told me she’d go a little darker than medium but not full on black brows, which was reassuring. She slathered on the dye and 5 minutes later…

Wow, it was DARK! It was like looking in the mirror at a whole different me. It definitely took some getting used to, but now I really love the look.
