Houston gets new and cool stuff all the time, but lately, everyone’s been talking about The Rustic coming to downtown because it’s totally a triple threat: restaurant, bar and music venue. It’s very uncommon that one spot nails all three, and, as someone who’s been to the cherished Dallas location, I can tell ya, The Rustic surely does.

1. The concerts.

Pat Green knows music. But a while back, he wanted to know restaurants too, so he joined up with Free Range Concepts (Bowl and Barrel and General Pubic in City Centre) to create The Rustic. He’s headlining the opening show on Nov. 1.

2. The food.

Like I said, you don’t assume the food is good at a concert venue, right? Wrong, at The Rustic. I went for brunch in Dallas and holy cow — one of the best brunches I’ve ever had. Don’t miss the daily donuts and the $20 pitchers of brunch classic cocktails. It’s served family style!

3. The drinks.

Listen, full disclosure, I went to The Rustic in Dallas because I saw their Rimy Margarita on Instagram and thought: “I. Must. Have. This.” I’ve got good news and bad news for you: The good news is that they ARE bringing this amazing cocktail to Houston along with other incredible creations. The bad news is that you’re gonna have to go SEVERAL times to try them all. Hmm.. is that so bad?
