New year — new closet? That can be arranged at The Sale — a charitable shopping event put on by the Houston Tri Delta Alumnae Chapter is taking place January 11 and 12.

The event takes place at the Bayou City Event Center (9401 Knight Rd), and you can buy tickets online by clicking here. Tickets are $5 more at the door, so buy online! Pro tip: It’s just $20 to go on Sunday vs. $25 on Saturday!

1. I mean, who doesn’t love shopping?

Let’s start with the obvious. Around 50 of your favorite Houston boutiques are gathering under one roof for two whole days — and they are slashing their prices. It’s pretty much your one chance to do a lot of damage. You can view the full list online by clicking here, but expect the likes of jewels from Kendra Scott, fun Lone Star-themed things from Paris Texas Apparel Co., and so much more.

2. You can sip and shop.

Who doesn’t love shopping with a mimosa in hand? Sure, it’s a little harder to hold all your goodies, but you’re sure having a great time while you buy!

This year, there’s even a champagne shopping pre-event on Saturday morning at 10 am. You get in the door first and have your pick of all the goods, and you get to sip your way through the aisles. Tickets for this event are $200 and go straight to charity.

3. Meet and greet with The Defined Dish.

Just like the champagne event, Sunday starts with something special — a visit from a very special guest, Alex Snodgrass. Alex is the recipe developer and food stylist behind the popular blog and social media outlet, The Defined Dish, which won Saveur Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Blog Award in the category of “Most Inspired Weeknight Meals.” Alex will be hosting a meet & greet where she will sign copies of her new book, The Defined Dish: Healthy and Wholesome Weeknight Recipes.

This event is an add-on with your Sunday ticket and begins at 11:30 am.

4. You have all weekend long.

There’s no excuses for not making it out to The Sale — you have all weekend long to fit it in your schedule! The champagne and meet and greets start each day, and the shopping party stops at 5 pm on Saturday and 4 pm on Sunday.

5. It’s for a great cause.

You might be shopping for new boots or a fab handbag, but you’re also shopping to cure childhood cancer. The proceeds go to fund pediatric cancer research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital. Alternating the donation between Texas Children’s Cancer Center and The University of Texas MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital, the SALE has donated a total of $1,025,000 for pediatric cancer research.
