It's Life

5 Favorite Things: November

Love November. It’s both my and Anastasia’s birthday month, AND the blog’s! Ps. you should def come to our party.

Anyways, besides being the most epic birthday month, it’s a beautiful fall month with (hopefully) cooler temps where you can enjoy some good food, theater, exercise and more.

This is Modern Art

The Landing Theatre

Oct. 27-Nov. 19
Tickets/concessions donations only

I’d never been to The Landing Theatre, and honestly I got super lost (if you don’t think you’re in the right place, you probably are). But once found, I LOVED the space. Very warehouse-y, which is PERFECT for the show, This is Modern Art, which is about the history of graffiti as artwork in Chicago. I really loved the 80-minute show — the set is small and so is the cast, and the script is based on real events. I left with a greater appreciation and knowledge of graffiti.

Bonus: The concession stand has wine — that’s a heavy pour. Love.

More.

Listen, I love a good workout. Especially a high-intensity interval workout. Think: OrangeTheory on steroids. Only 30 minutes (30 exhausting and sweaty minutes) for $20. BUT, then you get access to all the Four Seasons’ facilities: The pool, the locker room (with amazing spa products) and the steam room. Plus, there’s a great, recently renovated spa next door — if you’re up for treating yo’self.

Shake Shack in the Galleria

Shake Shack
5015 Westheimer Rd.

A day we’ll remember in history: Nov. 4, the day Houston got its first Shake Shack. Yes, it’s in the Galleria, and yes that is kind of annoying. Plus the unavoidable lines, especially at first. But so worth it. Get the original cheeseburger or the chicken sandwich. Pair with fries and a strawberry shake. Then walk home bc DANG will you be full.

Mostess official launch

We’ve loved Mostess since the first box. But the seasonal party-hosting survival kit is officially official. And, the winter box is out! The box for you is $120, and makes a great gift for Mom or Grandma for $125. #SoWorthIt

Cosmedix

SONY DSC

Oct. 15 was National Aesthetician day. It came and went. Oops. Mad love to our aestheticians from Milk and Honey! We tried some new Cosmedix products:

Moisturizer: This moisturizer is much lighter than the other one I have, so it’s amazing for daily use. (Goes on after serums!)

Toner: This toner can be described in one word: INTENSE. Need something to wake you up? THIS. You can almost taste the tea tree oil. But actually, that’s a pretty real concern. Try not to breathe in when applying.

Serum: Cell ID is both preventative and repairing. It’s basically a must-use EVERYDAY!

Bonus: SIA in Houston

Got to see Sia’s concert, which is 100% the best show I’ve ever seen. Like a live performance piece and dancing (Hi Maddie!) with the most beautiful voice singing. Life made. Special thanks to fellow blogger, Bunny Baubles, who let me borrow her Sia costume!
