Where to Find Astros Murals in Houston
Get your Astros spirit on and visit these pieces of artwork dedicated to the 2017 World Series Champs!
Minute Maid Park
501 Crawford St. Inside Minute Maid Park, the Houston Astros stadium, behind center field, you’ll see a lovely mural. The mural was introduced in 2017 and changes ever year. Below was the first mural painted by street artist Franky Cardona that features some of the legendary players (and uniforms) in Astros history. Here’s a video where he discusses the story behind the mural and his inspiration. This was unveiled March 2017. For more things you don’t want to miss in Minute Maid Park, click here.
20th Street in the Heights
420 E. 20th St. Street art at its finest creeps up in the most unexpected places! This dedication to the championship team started being painted in January 2018 (see the before pics here!) and has expanded over the past few months before reaching its final complete state. Painted by street artist Skeez181, the mural is on the side of a building in the Heights. Find it next to Birds Barbershop.
FM Kitchen
1112 Shepherd Dr. Since opening, FM Kitchen has been expanding its murals every few months (see the #MoreColorPlease one here!). The latest mural to its collection celebrates Orbit, the Houston Astros mascot, and Jose Altuve. The artist DonkeeBoy finished it in April 2018. If you need another reason to go to FM Kitchen, read on here for why we love it.
CareNow Heights
102 W. 11th St. New mural is up by @tarboxx2 at the corner of 11th and Yale in the Heights. Keeping score for each series, this mural is on point and inspiring the Astros to #TakeItBack in the 2019 World Series!!
