Have you ever been walking around Rice Village after the store hours and before bar time? SAME. Enter: Helen Greek Food and Wine. I had heard of this swanky new eatery, tired to go to it (and failed) then the perfect opportunity came about. Which allowed me to enter, sit and order “one glass of alcohol, please.” Here’s how to Helen:
The What
The tiniest little Greek restaurant (Note: not Nikos Nikos by like a few dollar signs) in Rice Village on Rice Blvd.
The Drink
The wine, duh. Helen is an actually for sure a wine bar. Ahem, bottles of unopened wine are part of the decor.
The Food
Ask your server. This might sound like a cop out, but I swear its not. The menu changes all the damn time. The dip appetizer, for instance, changes weekly. When I ordered it, we had eggplant, feta and red pepper and chick pea (so, like… hummus).
The Ruling
Go. Go once or twice… not a regular hang.
