Houston Restaurant Weeks: The Best Week(s) of the Year

Y’ALL. IT’S HERE. RESTARAUNT WEEK IS HERE. GET SO EXCITED.

HRWYour inner-foodie is about to rejoice like crazy. It’s the most magical time of year. Don’t know what I’m talking about? WELL. Houston Restaurant Week is phenomenal. I repeat: phenomenal. First, because it’s not a week. It’s actually more than month (Aug 1- Sept 7). Second because restaurants which you have no business visiting (due to pricey-ness) create special set menus with multiple courses and affordable prices. The best part? They donate a portion of the proceeds to the Houston Food Bank! It’s fabuloussssss.

According to the website there are a bunch of steps for making reservations in order to ensure that you get the HRW Menu, but in the past when I’ve just shown up and asked for the HRW menu, it’s always worked. Be warned however, that restaurants get pretty busy this time of year so reservations can come in handy. Check out the Open Table app to, you know, find an open table.

To search all the available menus, check out the list here. The meals are broken down into $25 brunch, $20 lunch, and then $35 or $45 dinner. It’s a set menu for each meal with multiple courses and often suggested drink pairings. It’s honestly a really good value.

Plus! There is a photo contest! These people know that the generation that they are catering to…Tag your photos with #HRWFoodiePhotoContest and you could be entered to win a $100 restaurant gift certificate.

GET SO EXCITED.

Below is a list of restaurants participating in HRW reviewed by It’s Not Hou. Check them out before you go!
