OK, so as I did last time, rather than writing about my Birchbox and Ipsy separately, I’m going to do what everyone should do to two things they like a lot and are competing for your business: pin them against each other.
Number one
Birch: Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream
Ipsy: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil + BONUS Revolution High-Color Lipgloss
Winner-winner chicken dinner: Face cream. (Not something I would have thought I’d pick but I hate that Ipsy advertises giving you full-size products and then gives you samples but says they are “bonuses” #ISeeWhatYouDidThere)
Number two
Birch: amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo
Ipsy: Balanced Guru Style Me Hair Oil
The ironic tie: So this funny thing happened. I used the oil fresh out of the shower and it smelled AMAZING. I put quite a bit on my non-dry hair. In a few hours, after it dried I had the oiliest, grudge-era hair ever. So…. guess what I used to dry it up…. yup. Dry shampoo. Sooooo, it’d be wrong to pick a winner here.
Number three
Birch: Marcelle Clay Mask
Ipsy: Chella Eyebrow Color Pencil
Clay baby, clay baby, clay: I don’t use things on my eyebrows. I’m just not ethnic enough, so I’ll refrain, thanks.
Number four
Birch: Coastal Scents® Revealed 3 Palette
Ipsy: NUXE Rêve de Miel® Facial Cleansing and Make-Up Removing Gel
Gel-ous: Like, i just don’t need 1,000 eyeshadows. At a certain point, I’m just tapped out. The cleanser smells good and works well, so it wins!
Number five
Birch: Whish Flawless Swipes
Ipsy: Jesse’s Girl Pure Pigment Eye Dust
Dust your shoulders off: So, repeating the eyeshadow complaint, I still like this product more than its opponent. I am just not a fan of Whish. The samples are always too small and the full size products are too expensive. I shave a lot. It’s just not financially responsible.
Ipsy, you win! And then some, because this month’s bag is ADORABLE.
