Heads up! This post is sponsored by Favor, but all opinions are my own!
Winter is… here. It’s time to shop ’til you drop (hey! We’ve got a guide for that.) It’s also time to see all the Christmas lights, drink and be merry, dance like there’s no tomorrow, pose for all the pix and treat yo’self to a mani and pedi.
Did I forget eating? Oh yeah, Favor’s got you covered for that.
Let’s get lit. We listed our favorite spots to sneak peeks in Houston. Another one to add to your list is Magical Winter Lights. It’s about 40 minutes south of downtown at Gulf Greyhound Park, but it’s fantastical. Worth the trip!
First Light District
Rave at 10 am with your friends? Normal. Casual. Sober? Sure, why not? That’s First Light District. It’s bizarre, honestly. You start off with some yoga — into it, then it’s time to party! It took a minute to rally, but the music is great! When we went, we had a sassy dance instructor, so it helped to have direction. Next one is Saturday! Bring your santa hat!
Ginger + Fork
Ginger + Fork is a cute little Asian cocktail bar and restaurant. I got to go try some of their drinks AND a guest bartender from Dead Rabbit and Blacktail in New York. My favorite G+F cocktail was the Panama Daquiri — wait hear me out. It’s simple, fresh and boozy. It has a eucalyptus leaf garnish. The smell is powerful and so complementary to the drink!
Kendra Scott Nail Polish
Hi, I have a new obsession: Longwear nail polish. It’s normal polish — no lights or anything, but it lasts longer than normal manicures. My first longwear polish was at Paloma, but my second was at Via Colori’s blogger happy hour. I went for a bronze color — v fall. It was perf for Thanksgiving!
The Texas Flag at Brooklyn Athletic Club
We talk a lot about walls, so I’m kind of obsessed right now. So, when celebrating a friend’s birthday (HBD, Viv) at Brooklyn Athletic Club, we did a quick photo sesh. 10/10 would recommend.
